League Information:

• CGYBA is comprised of two (2) divisions - a White Division & a Green Division.

• The White Division will challenge girls with game play while focusing on fundamentals & team play.

• The Green Division increases in competition by working on more comprehensive aspects of basketball development.

• A team top (jersey shirt) will be provided to each player for the season.

• All registered players will attend an evaluation on November 6th to determine which division they will be placed in. 3rd/4th graders will attend from 5:45 - 6:45 PM at Swartz Gymnasium at Carlisle High School and 5th/6th graders will attend from 5:30 - 6:30 PM at McGowan Gym at Carlisle High School. Those interested in the 5th/6th Grade Travel Team will attend a tryout at McGowan Gymnasium from 5:30 - 7:00 PM (more information on the travel team is below). 

Season Information:

• CGYBA clinics and games run on Saturdays from the week of December 13th through January 31st. 

• Practices are scheduled twice a week (typically Tuesdays & Thursdays) at local elementary schools between 5:45 - 8:30 PM.  Practices are between 1 to 1½ hours long. You are not guaranteed to practice at the school you attend. We will try our best to keep your daughter on the same side of Carlisle as their school.

• Two Saturdays of the league will consist of clinics and teaching by the Carlisle High School JV/Varsity Coaching Staff and players. No games will be played on these days. There will be a focus on fundamentals, understanding of the game and an emphasis of drills to be used in practice. CGYBA coaches will attend with players. 

• Games are scheduled for the remaining Saturdays & will be held at Lamberton Middle School (Green Division) and Mooreland Elementary School (White Division).  Games are usually one (1) hour long.  

• During the season, the Carlisle High School Girls Basketball team will host youth appreciation night during a select home varsity game. CGYBA players will have the opportunity to support the team & be recognized.

• The White Division has an end-of-year single-elimination tournament.

• The Green Division has an end-of-year double-elimination tournament.

5th/6th Grade Travel Team Information:

• The travel team is eligible to 5th and 6th graders. 

• CGYBA 5th/6th Grade Travel Team will compete in the Mechanicsburg Travel Basketball League. Games run from December 6th through February 21st. Practices are typically Monday and Wednesday evenings. 

• The Travel Team focuses on strong basketball development as well as sportsmanship, confidence building & positive youth development.

• If selected, players will be ineligible to play for the CGYBA White/Green Division for the 2025-2026 season.

• There is an additional fee for the travel team. The total fee is $130.

• Travel team players and coaches will be invited to attend the two Saturday clinics with the Green division.
